Utah Prep Therapeutics

Utah Prep students are able to recognize early on that the challenges they are facing with family, school and friends stem from, in part, their own self concept. Utah Prep’s therapeutics are designed to help the student be the one to identify and take ownership of past behaviors. With this insight, emotional growth takes hold.

Utah Prep integrates a student’s ITIP (Insight To Independence Plan) with the school’s level system. As a student ascends through the program levels, additional freedoms and additional responsibilities are added. Long before the student is ready to leave the school, a transition-to-home strategy has been completed.

Therapeutics are administered by licensed clinicians. Individual sessions are weekly and a variety of five or more groups are conducted each week. In addition, parents will be asked to participate in the therapeutic process via telephone conferences and parent weekends.

As a licensed residential treatment center, Utah Prep has adjunct faculty of both psychologists and psychiatrists. Should the need present, access to complete psychological and educational testing is available, without removing the student from the school environment.

As a licensed facility, some student’s behavioral health benefits under their medical insurance plans may cover a portion of the therapeutic program. For further information, please contact the Admissions department in pursuing reimbursement.
